Encore: Live at Avoca

Join us for a special evening. Avoca Beach Picture Theatre will be host to Australia's number 1 vocal group "Encore" on Friday 3rd June. The evening starts at 7:30pm. We encourage all of our patron to arrive at least 10 minutes earlier for ease of parking and to allow the night to flow smoothly. Tickets are just $28 for this great event.

Baby Names - Child Identity or Child Abuse

Why do parents strive to name their kids something that is unique and different to everyone else. Is there a point where it is to unique and therefore is child abuse. Obviously it isn't that extreme, but maybe we should be thinking of our children's future, at school and at home. Will they be teased for being named apple, DJ or Paris. Some of these names are beautiful but probably not practical.
At the same time, if people (kids included) were a little more sensitive to people's feelings then names, or in another case, looks, wouldn't be a big deal, it would just be an identity.
My wife and i named our so Ezekiel. To some people this name would be a bit weird, but it isn't one we created. We took it from the Old Testament of the bible. It means strength of God.
